 Atskirų vandens kokybės gerinimo sistemos elementų funkcinės paskirtys

Mechaniniai filtrai: Mechaninio filtro paskirtis - sulaikyti vandenyje esančias mechanines priemaišas. Mechaniniais filtrais vandentiekio (gręžinio/šulinio ir panašiai) vanduo yra nuskaidrinamas, vanduo tampa švaresnis ir skaidresnis. Mechaninio filtravimo metu filtruose yra sulaikomos smėlio, molio, rūdžių ir kitokios dalelės. Šio tipo filtrai vandenyje esančių bakterijų, virusų ir kenksmingų ištirpusių druskų bei junginių nepašalina. Mechaniškai filtruoto vandens skoninės ir kvapinės savybės nepagerėja, vandens cheminė sudėtis nepakinta. Speciali įkrova užpildytas minkštinimo filtras sugeba valyti papildomai vandenį iki 1 mokrono gylio. (itin kokybiškas valymas.) Vandens suminkštinimo filtrai: Vandens suminkštinimo filtrai jonų mainų būdu pašalina iš vandens kietumo jonus (kalcio ir magnio katijonus). Vandens kietumo jonai yra pakeičiami natrio katijonais. Suminkštintas vanduo pasižymi geromis skoninėmis savybėmis, yra skaidrus ir švarus. Suminkštintas vanduo užtikrina tai, kad įrenginių kaitinimo elementai nepasidengs netirpiomis apnašomis (neapkalkės), santechniniai įrenginiai visada bus švarūs, užtikrins ilgesnį šių įrenginių tarnavimo laiką. Dėka to, kad naudojant suminkštintą vandenį nesusidaro netirpios ir mažai šilumai laidžios apnašos (apkalkėjimas) garantuojamas efektyvesnis ir ekonomiškesnis (t.p. ir ekologiškesnis) šildymo ir garo katilų darbas. Naudojant suminkštintą vandenį skalbimui ir audinių dažymui, tampa nereikalingas specialių priedų (nuo apkalkėjimo) naudojimas, sunaudojama mažiau skalbimo priemonių, nudažyti ar išskalbti audiniai yra švelnūs, švarūs ir minkšti. Suminkštinto vandens cheminė sudėtis pakinta (padidėja Natrio junginių) proporcingai vandens suminkštinimo "gilumui". Vandens suminkštinimo filtrai bakterijų, virusų ir toksinių medžiagų nepašalina. Suminkštintas vanduo teigiamai veikia kūno odą, geriau pašalina nešvarumus prausiantis.

Vandens suminkštinimo filtrai Vandens suminkštinimo funkciją atlieka naudojama speciali katijonitinė įkrova. Kalcio bei magnio (taip pat nedidele dalimi geležies bei mangano junginių) sorbavimo metu vanduo proporciškai praturtinamas natrio katijonais (jonų mainų reakcijos). Sorbuojant minėtus junginius katijonitinė įkrova ilgainiui "prisisotina" ir tolesnis vandens suminkštinimas  tampa neefektyvus. Katijonitinės įkrovos savybių atstatymui yra vykdomos filtro "regeneravimo" operacijos. Vandens suminkštinimo filtrų regeneracijoms yra naudojamas druskos tirpalas (NaCl), paruoštas iš tabletuotos druskos. Regeneracijos operacijos susideda iš kelių stadijų - supurenimo, tikrosios regeneracijos ir atplovimo nuo regeneracijos produktų. Pabaigus regeneracijos operacijas katijonitinės įkrovos vandens suminkštinimo savybės yra atstatomos ir filtras gali būti toliau naudojamas. Regeneracijos operacijų metu susidarantys vandenys yra kanalizuojami. Filtro "regeneracijos" operacijų, įjungimo/atjungimo vykdymas yra automatizuotas - valdymą atlieka mikroprocesorinis (kompiuterinis) vožtuvų valdymo blokas. Dėka automatizuoto valdymo, filtro priežiūra ir aptarnavimas yra minimalūs - pakanka tik periodiškai patikrinti druskos kiekį druskos tirpalo laikymo talpoje. Filtro "regeneracijos" operacijų periodiškumas bei filtru pagaminamo vandens kiekis priklauso nuo vandens kietumo. Šio tipo filtruose naudojama katijonitinė įkrova yra maistinės švarumo klasės, ilgaamžė, padidinto atsparumo sudilimui ir suyrimui, chemiškai atspari. Dėka geros filtrų konstrukcijos ir įkrovai naudojamos medžiagos savybių sąlygos patologiniams mikroorganizmams vystytis susidaro labai retai. Šio tipo filtrai vandenyje esančių bakterijų, virusų ir kenksmingų ištirpusių druskų bei junginių nepašalina.
